Drivers using the QEW should prepare for several days of traffic delays next week.

As warmer weather arrives, crews will be out continuing repairs on the Burlington Skyway, leading to lane closures.

This bridge crosses Hamilton Harbour and serves as a key route for commuters traveling between Niagara and the GTA, and it will experience these lane restrictions.

The disruptions are set to start on Tuesday, April 7, and continue throughout the week until Saturday, April 11.

All work will take place in the lanes heading towards Niagara.

Here’s what to expect:

Tuesday, April 7 → Wednesday, April 8

Two of four lanes (left lanes) closed 9 p. m. (April 7) – 6 a. m. (April 8) Location: From north of the Skyway Bridge, including the bridge. Full closure of all lanes on the Skyway 10 p. m. (April 7) – 6 a. m. (April 8) Alternate route: QEW Niagara‑bound Collectors → Eastport Drive.

Additional Notes

The ramp from Eastport Drive/collector lanes to the bridge will be closed during all of the above closure times. All ramps at the Northshore Boulevard Interchange will remain open. Eastport Drive will stay fully open as an alternative route to re‑enter the QEW heading towards Niagara.

Wednesday, April 8 → Thursday, April 9

Two of four lanes (left lanes) closed 9 p. m. (April 8) – 6 a. m. (April 9) Location: From north of the Skyway Bridge, including the bridge.

Thursday, April 9 → Friday, April 10

Two of four lanes (right lanes) closed 11 p. m. (April 9) – 6 a. m. (April 10) Location: From north of the Skyway Bridge, including the bridge.

Friday, April 10 → Saturday, April 11

Two of four lanes (right lanes) closed 11 p. m. (April 10) – 6 a. m. (April 11) Location: From north of the Skyway Bridge, including the bridge.
