Gentile, Giovanna (August 18, 1929 – August 14, 2024)
It’s with profound unhappiness that we announce the sudden passing of Giovanna Gentile on Wednesday, August 14th on the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Petito, her sister Antonietta and brothers-in-law Frank Tota and Francesco DiBiasi. She will probably be dearly missed by her youngsters Marianne (Paul) Alfonsi, Pat (Jade) Gentile, Josie (Frank) Trivieri and Petrina (Steve) Gentile. Additionally, mourned by her sister Pierina DiBiasi in Italy. Cherished endlessly by her grandchildren Joanne (Mario), Jeff (Liz), Michael (Jenn), Danielle (Myron), Peter, Jordan, Tommas (Jessica), Kayla and Nathan. Additionally missed by her great-grandchildren Matteo, Chiara, Priya, Austin, Felix and Sophia.
Giovanna immigrated to Canada in 1956. She labored as a baker at Homestead Bakery and as a prepare dinner at Vacation Inn for many years. She was an avid gardener who loved making tomato sauce from her backyard. Sunday gatherings featured her selfmade pastas and desserts. She cherished taking part in playing cards and going to dinner dances with household and mates. She cherished her time along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her canine, Luna. Her residence was at all times full of music, love and laughter. Nobody ever left her residence hungry or empty handed.
