London police have begun looking into a death, marking the third case in just over a week, after a body was discovered inside a home on Adelaide Street South.
Officers responded to the location north of the intersection of Adelaide Street South and Thompson Road at around 6:50 p. m. on Tuesday.
The identity of the deceased person and the cause of death are still being examined in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner, according to police.
This is one of at least three death investigations that London police have initiated since early last week.
Investigators are also working on the case concerning Jessica Rose Bakker, 37, whose body was found at a downtown property by someone passing by on Feb. 17, according to police.
On Monday, law enforcement revealed that a 55-year-old man had been charged with improper/indecent interference with a dead body.
The accused allegedly showed disrespect to Bakker’s remains by putting them inside garbage bags and leaving them next to a dumpster behind 450 King St., as stated in court documents.
This individual is noted in those documents as residing at that address. He is set to appear in court on Thursday.
Additionally, police started an investigation Friday morning after retrieving a body from the Thames River close to downtown. They do not believe this death is suspicious.
